HA2 - Evaluation

In this assignment I had research into three different websites then research into Lucozade and show my design process to finally create three final images that could be a lucozade label on a bottle which would attract people.

First i made three mood boards of the websites Brook, Young Minds and FRANK I found this easy and interesting looking on the website and exactly what they was all about. All the websites were to help people and certain different audiences with problems in their life. I wrote about each of the websites and added pictures that I thought best described each site. If I was to improve these mood boardsI would spend more time on them so I fully understood the purpose for each one and expand on the kind of people each of them specifically aim for.

Then I had to create a mood board on lucozade and research the kind of audience they go for and about the website and the find of things they advertise. I found this task easy to because I know a lot about it already but I had to look on the website at videos and read about it so that I could explain and describe it along with the pictures I had chosen to represent it.

For task 3 I had to go onto google images and search for manipulated images and the kind of things that can be done in Illustrator and Photo Shop, I found some images which interested me and caught my eye and wrote about why I chose them and why I found them interesting. This was good because I wanted to try and make mine unique so it gave me good ideas and how simple things can be manipulated to create weird things. I found this task easy and interesting and felt that it helped when I was thinking of ideas and how I could use images together.

The next task was to show my ideas in some form, i used a mind map and ideas I may want to use and things and words that related to each website I was creating an image for. I made three different branches and came up with an idea for each, however they did change when it came to my final idea a little bit. I found this task a little bit harder because I had to go on the websites again and think about what each one showed me and how they made me feel and other people maybe feel, then think and write about how I want to represent each.

Task 5 shows all the images I took which I might of used to create and manipulate my final images. I got people to take pictures of me and took pictures of other people and collected the images for each website together and decided which ones I wanted. All the images that was taken I put them into separate contact sheets to show the choice I had for all three final designs. For some I had more images because I wasn't happy with the first few I got. This took a long time and was harder because I had to think about how I was going to make my images relate to all websites and my idea then pick the pictures that did this best.

The next Task I had to do was show production screens shots of how I manipulated each image. I showed two screen shots for each image I was working on which was easy because it was just print screening as I worked. I had to write a description of what I did in both shots and explained what tools I had used and how they had effected and manipulated my final designs.

The next was task 7 which is where I showed my final pieces of artwork with the artwork template on the top of it to show what website its for. The final design with the template is what would go on the side of the lucozade bottle. I felt I did good on it and I made sure the images fitted and used the clone tool on the side of the final images so that you couldn't see any white by the sides and my final lucozade label attractors was to my highest standard.

I found this task quite challenging because of all the production process and then fitting each image to the websites and trying to get the message across in my own way but if I was to do it again I could defiantly do it quicker and more confidentially. If I was to do it again I would expand and have more ideas so I had a wider choice to choose from and then take more pictures for each design so I had a wider range.
