In this project I had to research to Romeo and Juliet and this dance school company called Hip Hop Shakespeare Company and then use this research turn them into ideas for making images based on scenes from the film. I did this to give me ideas and inspiration for my art work on Illustrator.
I first had to make a schedule of when I was going to do certain parts of the project so that I could manage my time correctly and get the work done to the best of my ability. I then researched into HHSC which is The Hip Hop Shakespeare Company which is a dance company and I explained this using a mood board and finding out some information out about them. I found this easy because I enjoyed finding out what this company was about and what they did and who for. If I was to go back and do it again I would add more detail in how this will help me create my ideas and help create them.
I then made a mood board on Romeo and Juliet, we watched the film first so I knew what the story was about I just had to find out what it meant. I gathered lots of images of different actors playing the characters to show how popular this Shakespeare play is. I talk about the final scene of the play and what the story is about and what happens, this is the message of the play. I found doing both the mood boards easy because I liked looking for pictures that represented what I was talking about and what I was researching into.
For Task 3 of the assignment I actually had to create my final pieces first gathering my images I wanted, then doing a mock up of them and putting into Illustrator. I collected all the images I wanted and layerd them ontop of each other the way I wanted them to look when I was going to paint over them using the pen tool so that it looked like one image. All the images I used represented what scene I was trying to recreate. I had to do six final images I created and then show the stages and final idea finished on the blog. I found this task harder because there was a lot of work to do and evidence. I first print screened on PhotoShop my mock up of images or made a mood board of of the idea I had come up with, with images. Then print screened me working on it in Illustrator then showed my final piece and wrote about each of the process stages. This task challenged me and my photo Shop and Illustrator skills but helped me develop them and I got quicker at creating them towards the end. I think I could of done better by making a mood board for each one so that some of my ideas were more clear and that I could show the idea more clearly through my final image and people would understand what they represented better. When I got peoples opinions on some of my artwork they said they could see which image was for each scenario but I could of made the idea better using different images when I mocked them up in photoshop. I think my piece has acheived the aim of the project but could be improved but I have done everything that needs to be done to the standards I could when creating them.

HA2 - Evaluation
In this assignment I had research into three different websites then research into Lucozade and show my design process to finally create three final images that could be a lucozade label on a bottle which would attract people.
First i made three mood boards of the websites Brook, Young Minds and FRANK I found this easy and interesting looking on the website and exactly what they was all about. All the websites were to help people and certain different audiences with problems in their life. I wrote about each of the websites and added pictures that I thought best described each site. If I was to improve these mood boardsI would spend more time on them so I fully understood the purpose for each one and expand on the kind of people each of them specifically aim for.
Then I had to create a mood board on lucozade and research the kind of audience they go for and about the website and the find of things they advertise. I found this task easy to because I know a lot about it already but I had to look on the website at videos and read about it so that I could explain and describe it along with the pictures I had chosen to represent it.
For task 3 I had to go onto google images and search for manipulated images and the kind of things that can be done in Illustrator and Photo Shop, I found some images which interested me and caught my eye and wrote about why I chose them and why I found them interesting. This was good because I wanted to try and make mine unique so it gave me good ideas and how simple things can be manipulated to create weird things. I found this task easy and interesting and felt that it helped when I was thinking of ideas and how I could use images together.
The next task was to show my ideas in some form, i used a mind map and ideas I may want to use and things and words that related to each website I was creating an image for. I made three different branches and came up with an idea for each, however they did change when it came to my final idea a little bit. I found this task a little bit harder because I had to go on the websites again and think about what each one showed me and how they made me feel and other people maybe feel, then think and write about how I want to represent each.
Task 5 shows all the images I took which I might of used to create and manipulate my final images. I got people to take pictures of me and took pictures of other people and collected the images for each website together and decided which ones I wanted. All the images that was taken I put them into separate contact sheets to show the choice I had for all three final designs. For some I had more images because I wasn't happy with the first few I got. This took a long time and was harder because I had to think about how I was going to make my images relate to all websites and my idea then pick the pictures that did this best.
The next Task I had to do was show production screens shots of how I manipulated each image. I showed two screen shots for each image I was working on which was easy because it was just print screening as I worked. I had to write a description of what I did in both shots and explained what tools I had used and how they had effected and manipulated my final designs.
The next was task 7 which is where I showed my final pieces of artwork with the artwork template on the top of it to show what website its for. The final design with the template is what would go on the side of the lucozade bottle. I felt I did good on it and I made sure the images fitted and used the clone tool on the side of the final images so that you couldn't see any white by the sides and my final lucozade label attractors was to my highest standard.
I found this task quite challenging because of all the production process and then fitting each image to the websites and trying to get the message across in my own way but if I was to do it again I could defiantly do it quicker and more confidentially. If I was to do it again I would expand and have more ideas so I had a wider choice to choose from and then take more pictures for each design so I had a wider range.

HA2 - Production Process Screenshots
These two screen shots were from my second image I manipulated and created for Young Minds. The first image is how I cropped the picture just to get a mid shot picture so the outline of me could still be seen. This was the main message of my image to show your still there but hidden so don't loose yourself. I used the blur tool and tried out different strengths of it so that the image and I was still visible. The next image is of when I added the text over the top which created my final image. I used this technique so it was different from my first one and got the message across of what i was trying to show. I used the type tool for the words and the question mark.
My final manipulated image was for Brook which I used an image of me playing a girl who's putting on a fake smile and hiding away. The first image is off the image turned into black and white, i used this technique to show sadness and no fun. I did this on the effects drop down menu and changing the black and white ratio. The second image is when I was resizing the lips to make sure they looked like they fitted over the other image and lips. I did this using the image drop down menu and using image size to make it fit right. The lips I kept in colour to show happiness and life. This image is a contrast of colours and emotions.
HA2 - Photoshop Contact Sheets
These were all the images I could of used for my first manipulated images for FRANK in a contact sheet.
These are all the images I could of used and cropped and edited for my Young Minds final manipulated image.
These are all the images I took for my Brook manipulated images which I chose from and edited to create my final piece.
